Twisted Hate by Ana Huang
Twisted Hate is the third book in the "Twisted" series, and I’ll admit I had some nerves going into this one. I knew it would be a high-angst enemies-to-lovers story, and I had been putting it off for over a year, but when I finally decided to try the audiobook, I was pleasantly surprised. The book turned out to be lively, entertaining, and genuinely wonderful. I wasn’t sure what to expect from an enemies-to-lovers plot, but this one definitely delivered. While it’s not a flawless story, it was such an enjoyable experience and absolutely earned its high rating, at least in my eyes. The author definitely deserves the hype—her books are just so entertaining and full of heart.
Jules Ambrose and Josh Chen have been at odds for years, ever since Jules overheard Josh expressing his disapproval of her being friends with his sister. However, when they find themselves forced into close proximity, their animosity slowly shifts to respect, and the chemistry between them begins to sizzle. When they mutually agree to use each other for sex, neither complains. What starts as a hate-fueled fling eventually blossoms into something deeper, with sweet affection slowly growing between them. But Jules has a secret past, and when it resurfaces, her decisions could keep her from the man she could see herself spending her life with. Their love will be tested in ways neither of them could have expected.
I absolutely loved Twisted Hate—it actually surprised me how much I enjoyed it. I’m not sure why I was so shocked, since this author has a huge following and her work typically resonates with me, but I didn’t expect to be so captivated. As someone who isn’t usually a fan of enemies-to-lovers stories, this one really worked for me. A big part of that was thanks to the narrators, who were fantastic and brought the book to life in a way that kept me hooked. The banter and playful jabs between Jules and Josh were spot-on, and the steam? Oh boy, it’s explosive. Be prepared—this might just be the spiciest book I’ve read from this author!
Twisted Hate is a deeply evocative romance that touched my heart when I least expected it. It’s a story about the fine line between love and hate, and the powerful chemistry that can unexpectedly pull a couple together.
