The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
This might be one of the longest romance novels I’ve ever read, but surprisingly, it didn’t feel that long at all! The pacing is steady throughout, which makes it easy to get immersed in the story. New plot twists and events are introduced at just the right moments, keeping things fresh and the plot moving forward.
The characters are what truly make this book special. I found myself hooked on their interactions—Vanessa is strong and determined, while Aiden is instantly lovable and you can’t help but root for his success.
What I really appreciated about these characters was their growth. Both Vanessa and Aiden are flawed in their own ways, but watching those flaws evolve was amazing. They both change so much from the beginning to the end of the novel, but they don’t lose their essence. They simply become better versions of themselves, thanks to the influence they have on each other.
